A Very Social Sunday

First up, for the record- last night, Alexa rolled over during tummy time. We were all sitting around her mat talking, next thing we know, I look down and Alexa is on her back staring up at me. Pretty impressive for 22 days old (and still technically -14 days old...)

Alexa spent more time with Poppy & Susan today, and got a visit from Brad & Jodi. Good times.

A Special Delivery from Brandon and Michael

On Friday, Alexa got some interesting mail. Her cousins Brandon & Michael were kind enough to send her their old pacifiers. Now all I keep thinking is that when they finally meet her they are going to be mad at her for taking their most prized possessions.

3 Weeks Old & Still Swinging

Well, actually, finally swinging is more like it.

Tonight Alexa got in her Lamb Swing and promptly passed out.

Which I can only take to mean that she absolutely LOVES it.

Hanging With Dad

Brian came home from work a little early yesterday, so he and Alexa got to take a little nap together- it was very sweet. Norman was also in the mix- can't see him in this picture but don't you worry- that little dog doesn't let a cuddle go by that he is not involved in.

Alexa Arrives!

May as well start at the beginning, right?

Alexa was born on January 7th, 2011- 5 weeks early. It was a crazy shock- here is a post I did on my blog capturing the experience. I still think it is nuts when I look at my calendar and things pop up like "Childbirth Class" or a big meeting for work and I realize that I fully intended to still be pregnant right now- and instead of waddling around in flats, I am pushing a stroller in heels.

We are so lucky that Alexa was born healthy- and now that she is home safe & sound I can properly thank her for the things that she spared me by being born on January 7th as opposed to February 13th:
  • Stretch marks
  • Probably 20 extra pounds (already gained 40, and something tells me I wasn't stopping anytime soon)
  • 5 weeks of wearing flats
  • At least 20 sleepless nights of tossing and turning in a state of panic about what it would be like to go into labor- when would it happen, how much would it hurt, what on earth would I pack to wear in the hospital

Blogging for Baby- An Experiment

So, I am going to give this whole "blogging my baby" thing a try. Figure it is a good way for family and friends to keep up with Alexa's adventures while also witnessing Brian and my attempts at going from selfishly hedonistic work-a-holic New Yorkers to responsible adult (gulp) parents.

A disclaimer to Alexa: I will do my VERY best not to embarrass you and will keep nudie shots to a minimum- promise. But most likely there will be a few that are just too adorable not to share. So I apologize in advance.
