May as well start at the beginning, right?
Alexa was born on January 7th, 2011- 5 weeks early. It was a crazy shock- here is a post I did on my blog capturing the experience. I still think it is nuts when I look at my calendar and things pop up like "Childbirth Class" or a big meeting for work and I realize that I fully intended to still be pregnant right now- and instead of waddling around in flats, I am pushing a stroller in heels.
We are so lucky that Alexa was born healthy- and now that she is home safe & sound I can properly thank her for the things that she spared me by being born on January 7th as opposed to February 13th:
- Stretch marks
- Probably 20 extra pounds (already gained 40, and something tells me I wasn't stopping anytime soon)
- 5 weeks of wearing flats
- At least 20 sleepless nights of tossing and turning in a state of panic about what it would be like to go into labor- when would it happen, how much would it hurt, what on earth would I pack to wear in the hospital
